Backup QB found in Brunell

Mark Brunell will be the New Orleans Saints new backup quarterback as he agreed to terms with the team Thursday, according to the Washington Post.

The left-handed Brunell, 37, should replace Jamie Martin who was the backup to starter Drew Brees the past two seasons. Brunell visited the Saints early this week.

Brunell started last season as Jason Campbell's backup in Washington. Todd Collins took the job away from Brunell, eventually leading the Redskins to the playoffs for an injured Campbell. The Redskins recently released Brunell.

He has spent 14 seasons in the NFL throwing for 31,826 yards, 182 touchdowns and 106 interceptions.
