The Saints veer off the defensive front as they selected Nebraska tackle Carl Nicks with their second fifth-round pick, No. 164 overall.
Nicks (6-foot-5, 341) played both left and right tackle while with the Cornhuskers. He played two years at Nebraska and was a full-time starter only in his senior season. He was expected to be a possible second- or third-round pick, but Nicks said charcter issues "murdered" his draft stock.
