Wisconsin left-footed kicker Taylor Mehlhaff rounded out the Saints’ draft in the sixth round at pick No. 178. He was the first kicker taken in this draft and will compete immediately with Martin Gramatica.
Melhaff connected on 77 percent of his kicks throughout his career at Wisconsin with his longest kick coming from 52 yards. The last time the Saints drafted a kicker was Morten Andersen in 1982.
