Training camp is right around the corner and the Saints are starting to ramp up their rookie contract talks.
The team nailed down its second draft pick today as sixth-round pick kicker Taylor Mehlhaff agreed to a three-year deal, according to a source familiar with the situation.
Mehlhaff will compete with veteran kicker Martin Gramatica once training camp commences Thursday at Millsaps College in Jackson. The left-footed kicking Mehlhaff was the first kicker taken in the 2008 draft.
The Saints still have four draft picks left unsigned - defensive tackle Sedrick Ellis, cornerback Tracy Porter, offensive lineman Carl Nicks and wide receiver Adrian Arrington.
