Bush misses practice; five players cut

Running back Reggie Bush missed practice Monday with a thigh contusion. Others who missed practice were cornerback Usama Young (hamstring), linebacker Mark Simoneau (back), defensive tackle Hollis Thomas (triceps), wide receiver Adrian Arrington (toe) and defensive end Josh Savage (elbow).

The Saints also chopped five players off the roster Monday as wide receiver Todd Blythe, safety Curome Cox, center Rob Hunt, fullback Kevin Dudley and punter Waylon Prather were waived as the team needed to cut the roster to 75 players by 3 p.m. today. Dudley (ankle) and Cox (groin) will both receive injury settlements.

Twenty-two players will need to be shaved by the end of the week as rosters will be down to 53 by 3 p.m. Saturday.
